Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Engineer - DevOps to lead our infrastructure initiatives. This role is designed for a technical leader who thrives in a multifaceted environment. You will serve as a hands-on individual contributor leveraging deep expertise in cloud platforms and infrastructure automation, while simultaneously leading team management and strategic prioritization, and driving client interfacing and requirements analysis. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our production systems while aligning technical execution with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Design, build, and manage scalable infrastructure on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, or OCI).
• Kubernetes & Containerization: Administer and optimize Kubernetes clusters and container runtimes (Docker, containerd).
• Infrastructure as Code: Manage infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform and/or Pulumi.
• CI/CD & Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple services and environments. Automate operations with Python and shell scripting for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Reliability & Incident Management: Ensure high availability and performance of production systems, troubleshoot incidents effectively, and participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.
• Observability & Monitoring: Monitor system metrics and implement observability best practices using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Networking & Security: Apply best practices in cloud networking, Linux administration, and configuration management. Support compliance and security audits, and assist with cloud security measures (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, IAM hardening).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to align infrastructure with business needs.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 7–10 years of total experience, with a minimum of 7 years in a full-time DevOps role.
• Hands-on experience with at least 2 major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI); experience with more than 2 is a plus.
• Proficient in Kubernetes administration and container technologies (Docker, container).
• Strong Linux fundamentals.
• Scripting skills in Python and shell scripting.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform and/or Pulumi).
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting production environments.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts with hands-on experience in tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Devtron, GCP Cloud Build, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with cloud security and SecOps tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM, firewalls).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
• Exposure to OpenTelemetry and observability frameworks.
• Exposure to cost optimization in cloud environments.
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
