About Bluecopa
Bluecopa is an AI-native finance operations platform that automates Record-to-Report (R2R), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) on a single unified data spine — so finance teams close faster, reconcile at scale, and run on real-time, trustworthy numbers. We exist to bring finance into its next age of tooling, and eventually make it autonomous.
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation and a solid foundation in API and database testing, with hands-on experience building scalable automation frameworks for modern web applications.
You'll work closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers to design test strategies, automate critical workflows, and help shape how quality is built into every release. We value engineers who take pride in their craft, enjoy mentoring others, and care deeply about delivering reliable, high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Engineering: Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end automated test suites using Playwright (or Selenium) for the Bluecopa web platform.
- Framework Architecture: Build, scale, and own the automation framework — ensuring it is reusable, stable, and maintainable as the product grows.
- API Testing: Perform comprehensive API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent, and integrate API tests into the automation pipeline.
- Database Validation: Write complex SQL queries to validate data integrity across reconciliations, transformations, and reporting workflows.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to translate requirements into detailed test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.
- Comprehensive Testing: Conduct functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing throughout the SDLC.
- Defect Lifecycle: Identify, document, and track defects to closure, working closely with engineering teams to resolve issues quickly.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) to enable continuous testing.
- Agile Participation: Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture discussions — advocating for quality at every stage.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior QA engineers and help establish testing best practices across the team.
- ETL Testing (Good to Have): Perform ETL testing to validate data pipelines, transformations, and warehouse loads that power finance workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience: 4–5 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focus on test automation.
- Tooling Expertise: Proven expertise in Playwright or Selenium WebDriver, with experience writing maintainable, scalable test scripts.
- Framework Design: Strong experience designing and building automation frameworks (Page Object Model, BDD, data-driven, or hybrid).
- Backend Validation: Proficient in SQL with the ability to write complex queries, joins, and stored procedures for backend data validation.
- API Ingestion: Solid understanding of API testing concepts (REST/SOAP), with hands-on experience using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#.
- Infrastructure & Version Control: Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools.
- Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ETL testing, including validation of data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar).
- Exposure to testing microservices-based architectures and event-driven systems.
- Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, k6, Gatling).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience testing finance, fintech, or enterprise SaaS products.
- ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
