Senior Engineer - SRE/DevOps

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer to build and operate the cloud infrastructure that powers our finance operations platform. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the infrastructure team — designing scalable multi-cloud environments, administering production Kubernetes clusters, automating everything that can be automated, and keeping our systems reliable, observable, and secure. You will own problems end-to-end, from infrastructure design through incident response, and work closely with development, security, and product teams to make sure infrastructure keeps pace with a fast-growing product.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Platforms

• Design, build, and manage scalable infrastructure on major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, or OCI).
• Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and container runtimes (Docker, containerd).
• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Pulumi, keeping environments consistent, versioned, and reproducible.
• Apply best practices in cloud networking, Linux administration, and configuration management.

Automation & CI/CD

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple services and environments.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and maintenance operations using Python and shell scripting.
• Drive infrastructure-as-code adoption and engineering hygiene across environments.

Reliability & Observability

• Ensure high availability and performance of production systems, and troubleshoot incidents to root cause rather than one-off fixes.
• Monitor system metrics and implement observability best practices using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities, contributing to RCAs and preventive improvements.

Security & Collaboration

• Support compliance and security audits, and assist with implementation of cloud security measures (firewalls, IDS/IPS, IAM hardening).
• Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
• Document infrastructure, runbooks, and operational procedures so knowledge is shared, not siloed.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of total experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a full-time DevOps role.
• Hands-on experience with at least 2 major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI); more than 2 is a plus.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes administration and container technologies (Docker, containerd).
• Strong Linux fundamentals.
• Scripting skills in Python and shell scripting.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or Pulumi (mandatory).
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting production environments.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts with hands-on experience in tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Devtron, GCP Cloud Build, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud security and SecOps tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM, firewalls).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
• Exposure to OpenTelemetry and observability frameworks.
• Exposure to cost optimization in cloud environments.
• Experience working in fast-paced startup environments.
